Is There Any Way to Receive Large Lots of Books?

Are Remainder Books worthless, marked up books that ought to be ignored at all costs? Or, are they a Wonderful Deal for visitors trying to find a Good Quality Book at a Lower Cost? What Are Remainder Books? Are They Publishers' Junk? Let me start by squashing the idea that remainder books are junk! They are not! They are new, unread books that the publisher has passed on for resale. They are in desirable condition, the plates are great, the pages are great, the dust jackets are excellent and the bindings are great! They are brand brand-new books at a substantially reduced price! As a bookseller, I have sold many remainders. There are a excellent deal of misconceived notions regarding remainder books, and I think these great books need a little backup! First allow me explain what a remainder book is and what a remainder mark is. These are books that have a small dot or mark, either found on the top or the bottom of the book. They are on the outside of the pages and do not touch the plates, the inside of the pages, or the dust jackets. Occasionally booksellers usually refer to these books as deal books. They are one plus the same, merely a different terminology! Why are these marks place on them? Sometimes the publisher printed too numerous copies, in different situations bookstores bought too many copies, subsequently returned them to the publisher for credit towards their next buy. The books, therefore, have been handled a few times but are still in great condition. Many occasions, these books have sat in boxes, never placed found on the shelves of bookstores and therefore have never been handled by potential customers in a bookstore! The publisher, in turn, places a small mark on these books to assure that these books will likely not create their method back with the publisher again, for an additional credit. The publisher then sells the books with wholesalers who therefore passes them on. This is a surprisingly inexpensive option to purchase brand unique books at a slightly lower cost then what they go for in your average bookstore! Many instances, these books are initial editions, and in some cases, actually signed by the authors! I have sold very a few Remainder Books with absolutely no complaints whatsoever! I moreover buy many remainder books for my own employ! I have purchased them from additional booksellers and have equally purchased them on amazon! If you are a read-a-holic like I am, there are a big savings in your book buying! I highly suggest these books! I can purchase several at a time and not feel like I have to take out a mortgage with read my favorite authors or topics! Why don't book collectors buy remainder books? Book collectors are purchasing books in a completely different light! They are searching for editions that are uncommon - surprisingly old, from print books. Antiquated books and those that potentially heighten in value over time. Quite simply; a remainder book has a mark on it! This would take from the value of the book down the road. On a final note: I hope this has cleared the air on the subject of remainder books. So the next time you see someone marketing a remainder, I hope you won't get all goose-bumped and go screaming into the day in the opposite direction! You could be lost out on a perfect deal on a perfect book!
