Palm Springs is often a moniker that a majority of folks imagine fits your entire Coachella Valley, including the cities from Palm Springs to Palm Desert to Indio. Most City Council seats are won by openly Gay candidates. Because of this influx, property values in Palm Springs have retained their values significantly and several heretofore undesirable neighborhoods have experienced a revival.

PS provides the Villagefest street fair; an attractive way to spend a night time. The main street of Palm Canyon is blocked off and away to driving traffic by 6pm the street is stuffed with vendors of food, art, collectibles along with other hand-crafted items. It can make for a great evening and it is my personal favorite method to stroll through downtown. Music fills the environment as the sounds of street musicians ply their instruments so that they can sell their CD's and services. I've bought several CD's for that popular guitar and wind instruments similar to Southwestern sounds.

Palm Desert however is mostly newer homes made the 1970's to the current. Often times a purchaser can choose a home internal the past 5-20 years that's in excellent condition. Major condominium and country club developments fill the region and major shopping complexes provide the best of retail. Saks Fifth Avenue, El Paseo, May company, JC Penney's, Best to buy, Costco, The Westfield Retail center, Barnes & Noble: they are but a few from the stores within the city of Palm Desert. And many of the schools have grown to be chartered schools due the direction from the involved parents and administrators which are seeking the highest possible quality of deliverable education. A few of these schools have waiting lists to achieve attendance even though you purchase a home inside their designated district.
