StressFreeZone is an open-source space-game for Linux and Windows,
focused on coop (non-massive)-multiplayer and intuitive gameplay,
that is fun to play in short bursts, e.g. on LAN parties.

development status

SFZ is currently in development (pre-alpha, planning).
The code is available under GPL, the content will probably be cc-by-sa.
We use the Ogre3D engine and the Lua scripting language.

features

  • (planned) defending a space station
  • (planned) enemies arriving in waves
  • (planned) buying/salvaging equipment and ships between waves
  • (planned) ship-editor (intuitive, lego-like)
  • (planned) cooperatively operating different parts of capital ships (turrets, launched ai-fighters..)
